The City of Fredericksburg is accepting applications for a Lineman in the Electric Department. This position works under the direction of the Electric Department Superintendent and is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s electric distribution system.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot electrical line issues and identify causes of power outages.
• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical lines and equipment.
• Install transformer pads, transformers, connect and disconnect meters as required.
• Work with digging, setting, removing, loading, and unloading utility poles.
• Conduct line inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns.
• Perform work with attention to safety standards and working conditions.
• Participate in rotating on-call shifts.
