Overview

Registered Nurse Behavioral Health PRN – Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare. The role supports inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for the Fredericksburg community.

The RN coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in behavioral health. In collaboration with providers and the care team, the RN applies nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, Manage), advocates for patients and families, and supports the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status
• Perform procedures, monitoring or other functions as ordered by the medical provider, documenting care in the patient medical record timely and thoroughly
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating needs proactively
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize and deliver a holistic treatment plan that promotes recovery
• Serve as interface between healthcare providers and community support systems for ongoing care of specialized patient groups

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR certification within 30 days of employment start date
• PRN status and at least 1 year of experience as a Behavioral Health RN
