Excel Truck Group is seeking a strong, efficient, proven leader, multifunctional Parts Manager to join our Fredericksburg, VA team.
This key leadership role is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. He/she will accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising. The Parts Manager must be able to lead an inside and outside sales team to promote growth and achieve profit expectations.
If you have parts management experience within the transportation industry, we want to hear from you. Fleet, Truck and/or automotive dealership experience is ideal, but not required.
Responsibilities- Reports directly to our Fixed Operations Manager. Able to support all other departments as needed to support our customers experience and meeting their expectations.
- Knowledgeable on all makes of Truck parts and able to resource and inventory as needed.
- Prepares operating and capital budgets for the Parts department, reviews on a regular basis and takes corrective action as needed.
- Develops and implements an effective sales and marketing plan which meets department sales and profit targets while supporting company goals (key performance indicators) and objectives.
- Manages and controls the parts inventory level (key performance indicators), ensuring an adequate inventory and efficient use of warehouse space.
- Reviews department expenditures for accuracy, reconciles with vendor statements and provides payment authority.
- Establishes and fosters relationships with outside sales representatives, vendors and parts suppliers.
- Promotes effective communication between department and all other Branch departments to best serve customers' needs.
- Reviews vendor products, determines which lines to carry and negotiates profit margin.
- Analyzes sales territory and customer purchase trends to develop effective strategies to build parts route sales base and overall profitability.
- Monitors computer inventory system for high and low usage items to optimize warehouse parts storage.
- Trains and appraises parts employees to ensure acceptable productivity and adherence to company goals and policies.
- Interviews and hires parts department personnel.
- Solid communication and computer skills.
- Able to develop strong internal relationships with our Service, Body, Trailer and Sales departments.
- Must be able to manage multiple working shifts (day & night) effectively, ultimately supporting our customers based on their time and schedule needs. Our customers and industry require flexibility and a fast, accurate response.
- Able to perform other duties as assigned in order to enhance and maximize the performance of the dealership.
- Strong Compensation package where you can expect to earn $105,000 – $125,000/yr or more based on department performance.
