LEAD CREW MEMBER – STREET SANISTATION

Starting Salary: $41,872

Join our team to lead and supervise a group of laborers in street sanitation. As a Lead Crew Member, you'll ensure the smooth operation of our city's essential services.

• Assist the Crew Leader in directing daily operations and ensuring work area safety.
• Prepare reports and maintain logs of activities.
• Oversee or participate in equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.
• Operate or supervise the operation of various trucks and heavy equipment.
• Drive street sanitation vehicles, including street sweepers, water, trash, dump, and recycling trucks.
• Assist with tree removal and debris cleanup after storms.
• Direct traffic during road work and clean-up jobs.
• Provide guidance to lost or stranded visitors and citizens.
• Remove deceased animals from streets.
• Train other employees in equipment use.
• Collaborate with the Clean Community Commission on projects.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in public works maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience.

• Traffic Control and Flagging license from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Transportation.
• Pesticide Applicator License.
• Certified Aerial Lift Operator.
• CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid Certifications.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
