DESCRIPTION:
Counselors are responsible for a variety of counseling and educational services within the home and community setting. Counselors are also required to develop, coordinate, and implement the treatment goals and objectives of each client, to include ensuring all objectives, goals, and deficiencies are documented and reported accurately and in compliance with organizational policies and guidelines. Counselors will facilitate clients support groups as needed as well as build partnerships with other community organizations.

Registered with The Virginia Board of Counseling as Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-C or T)

Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and one year successful work experience providing mental health services to youths ages 4-20 with behavioral issues and developmental disabilities. Must successfully pass a criminal history check by the BIU of DBHDS and a central registry check by VDSS. QMHP-C or T Registration Required with the VA Board of Counseling. Resident PREFERRED.

ACCENT is dedicated to providing professional services with counseling and training in appropriate skill-sets that support individuals’ behavioral, mental, and medical health and safety.

Provide structured, outcome driven therapeutic treatment, which improves the client’s level of functioning in the home and community.
Provide the necessary linkage of supports through case management with doctors, courts, hospitals, social services, and others involved in the client’s treatment in order to provide a comprehensive, holistic approach to services.
