Veterinary Receptionist

JOB SUMMARY

As a veterinary receptionist, you will be an essential part of the clinic team and help improve the lives of thousands of animals and people each year. CRAH is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, compassionate, hardworking animal lover to add to the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Answering phones and scheduling appointments using our practice management software – Cornerstone.
  • Treat people and animals with respect, contribute to effective teamwork and provide top‑notch customer service.
  • Communicate in an effective and professional manner with clients and staff, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain medical records and perform record‑keeping duties.
  • Clean and organize the lobby area.
  • Manage CRAH email, scanning, and fax communications.
  • Follow written and verbally communicated instructions.
  • Assist with client check‑in and check‑out procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Embrace the CRAH mission and adhere to CRAH policies.
  • Report to the Clinic Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Obtained high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • 2+ years of veterinary experience preferred but not required.
  • Display a positive attitude, concern for people and community, presence, self‑confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
  • Ability to shift gears, recover from setbacks and overcome obstacles.
  • Proven organizational, time‑management and planning skills required.
  • Maturity with ability to use good judgment and display a professional manner at all times.
  • Self‑starter, initiating activities within a framework developed with minimal supervision.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Patience and tact when working with difficult, emotional, or angry people.
  • Ability to adapt and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
