Occupational Therapist - Pediatric Outpatient - CHOR Fredericksburg - PRN
Occupational Therapist PRN conducts evaluations on referred patients.
- Plans and implements a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow‑up or continued care.
- Documents results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines.
- Participates as a member of a self‑directed departmental team as well as an interdisciplinary patient care team.
- Provides clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed and offers training and education to department and hospital staff.
- Licensed (or licensed eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist.
- Completion of licensing requirements for new graduates within 1 year of graduation.
- Maintenance of licensure once granted.
- Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area.
- New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
- Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
- Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses.
- Setting schedule and managing time.
- Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds.
- Goal setting for routine diagnoses.
- Completion of routine documentation.
- Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self‑directed work team.
- Customer interaction.
- Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): provides supervision for Rehab Technicians, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations.
- Schedules and work hours will be established with your specific manager.
- Schedules, including weekends and holidays, will be required based on the unit’s organizational and staffing needs.
- Hours may include days or nights as per PRN nature.
- Lifting 50-100 lbs.
- Frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other), and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
- Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly.
- Ability to read, write legibly, logical thinking.
- Ability to handle fast‑pace environments, steady pace, multiple priorities, noisy environment, frequent and intense customer interactions, and adapt to frequent change.
