We are currently hiring a SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE AND NETWORK ENGINEER to lead the planning, design, and implementation of IT infrastructure for a Government customer.

MUST BE A US CITIZEN WITH ACTIVE DoD CLEARANCE (WITH ABILITY TO OBTAIN TS/SCI) AND PASS BACKGROUND CHECK

This position is located on-site in Fredericksburg, VA.

The Senior Infrastructure and Network Engineer will lead the planning, design, and implementation of secure, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in voice, video, and data networks, including wireless and cellular technologies, and the ability to translate mission requirements into robust infrastructure designs. The engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed network drawings using AutoCAD and Visio, conducting site surveys, and supporting the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects from concept through sustainment.

The position also involves collaboration with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and operations teams to ensure compliance with DoD standards and mission alignment.

• Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure design including LAN/WAN, wireless (e.g., 5G), and secure communications systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio for developing and maintaining as-built and logical network diagrams
• Experience with Protected Distribution Systems (PDS), cable plant design, and physical infrastructure planning
• Ability to conduct site surveys and develop comprehensive site survey reports and infrastructure design packages
• Familiarity with DoD STIGs, Zero Trust Architecture, and Comply-to-Connect (C2C) principles
• Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g., ITIL, DESMF) and Configuration Management practices
• Experience with network architecture documentation, including logical and physical diagrams, and technical requirements questionnaires (TRQs)
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including cybersecurity, facilities, and operations personnel

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in relation to network areas such as landlines, cellphones, voice, video and data networks, and wireless communications
• Qualified experience in Visio and AutoCAD, as well as more complex network engineering tasks
• Qualified experience in systems studies includes planning, design, development, and modifications of existing of planned voice and data communications network systems and subsystems

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio
• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) are highly desirable
• DoD 8570.01-M compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent) if performing cyber-related duties
