Work Schedule:
Hours will vary between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm depending on availability and scheduling needs
General Duties:
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. We are currently seeking adjunct faculty members to teach speech and general communications courses. May be required to perform other duties as assigned and may be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Plan and teach speech and general communications courses in a classroom environment for students with diverse backgrounds.
- Adhere to assigned teaching loads based on student enrollment and staffing needs.
- Complete any special assignments as required.
- Support emergency/essential duties as requested by the Governor or agency directives.
- Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in the specific discipline
- Official transcripts required prior to final offer
- Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication
- Commitment to student engagement in online teaching, including maintaining consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms
- Technology capability (access to WIFI, computers) to teach remotely
- Experience using technology to teach
- Ability to teach in a variety of modalities including virtually
- Competency and commitment to continuous professional development in virtual education
- Complete Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2 prior to teaching
- Prior teaching experience
- Work experience in the field
- Experience with online teaching
- Experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous environments at a regionally accredited institution
- Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools
