The Assistant Vice President of Data and Analytics leads the Bank's data strategy and analytics function. This role ensures a data driven process for decision making and optimizing analytics processes. As the AVP of Data and Analytics will be responsible for data governance, engineering, and business intelligence, while aligning data initiatives with overall business goals. The AVP will also play a key role in strategic planning and execution, driving the development of data related products and initiatives.

• Champion Core Values:
  Lead with and model SSB&T’s core values, embedding them into data strategy, governance, and team culture.
• Set the Data Vision & Strategy:
  Define and own the data and analytics vision, roadmap, and operating model aligned with organizational strategy, growth priorities, and regulatory expectations.
• Leadership & Advisory:
  Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, translating business strategy into data-driven insights that inform decision‑making across marketing, sales, operations, risk, and finance.
• Build & Lead High-Performing Teams:
  Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-impact data and analytics team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Data Governance:
  Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata management, data lineage, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• End-to-End Data Lifecycle Ownership:
  Manage the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and integration to analytics, visualization, and reporting—ensuring accuracy, reliability, consistency, and scalability of enterprise data assets.
• Advanced Analytics & Innovation:
  Drive the development and adoption of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modeling, machine learning, automation, and executive dashboards to improve performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Portfolio & Investment Management:
  Oversee data and analytics initiatives, balancing portfolio investments, capacity, and capabilities while identifying opportunities to optimize cost, efficiency, and business impact.
• Data-Driven Culture Enablement:
  Promote enterprise adoption of data and analytics through education, enablement, and change management to support metric-driven, evidence-based decision-making.
• Risk, Security & Compliance:
  Ensure data is protected, governed, and used in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, and Technology leaders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  
  Partner effectively with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, transparency, and shared accountability for outcomes.
• Evolving Scope & Strategy:
  Adapt responsibilities and strategic priorities as organizational needs evolve, ensuring continued alignment with enterprise goals.

• Exempt Full-Time role.
• Core Business Hours Monday
  - Friday 8am-5pm.
• Community / volunteer involvement.
• Sedentary role requiring prolonged sitting, with frequent use of hands for typing and operating computers.
• Occasional walking, standing, and use of office equipment.
• Must possess close visual acuity and clear speech for communication.

• In-Office / Hybrid / Remote.
• Preferred location:
  San Antonio Metro, Fredericksburg, DFW and Austin.
• Travel may be necessary depending on business needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
