maintain excellent attendance and punctuality on the job.
work independently and in groups to perform repairs and maintenance on school buses, utility trucks, and automobiles.
operate a service truck to provide road service for board of education vehicles.
log into and out of work orders, update, review, and close work orders, using fleet maintenance software (faster).
drive a regular school bus route as a substitute driver when needed.
required qualifications- high school diploma or equivalent.
- three (3) years of experience as an automobile and/or truck repair mechanic.
- graduation from an automobile and/or truck repair vocational or trade school.
Note:
two years of additional experience as an automobile and/or truck repair mechanic may be substituted for the required vocational or trade school training. - certification as a school bus driver or receive certification within 3 months of employment date.
- a clean driver’s record with no more than two (2) points within the last 2 years.
- capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- sufficient physical strength and stamina to lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and complete work requiring considerable physical exertion.
- regular and predictable attendance.
- familiarity with the fcps policies, goals, and programs.
- ase technician certification at any level with preference given to ase school bus technician.
