Assistant Basketball Coach

This is a part-time, on-site role located in Frederick, MD, for an Assistant Basketball Coach at Frederick Community College. The Assistant Basketball Coach will support the Head Coach in planning and conducting team practices, developing game strategies, and fostering athletic and personal growth among student-athletes. Additional responsibilities include mentoring student-athletes in sportsmanship and academic success, overseeing team logistics such as travel and equipment, ensuring compliance with collegiate athletic regulations and policies, and assisting in recruiting prospective student-athletes to the program.

• Strong knowledge of basketball coaching techniques, game strategies, and rules.
• Experience in team management, mentoring, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Excellent communication, teaching, and leadership skills for working with student-athletes and staff.
• Ability to adhere to collegiate athletic policies and enforce academic and behavioral standards.
• Organizational skills for coordinating practices, game-day activities, travel, and equipment management.
• Proficiency in recruiting and developing athletic talent for college-level competitions.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred or willingness to obtain upon hiring.
• Bachelor s degree preferred, with prior coaching or collegiate basketball experience highly valued.
