JOB INFORMATION
Non-exempt (compensatory and/or overtime eligible); full-time; 40 hours per week;
Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m. (with on-call schedule rotation for electrical & non-electrical emergencies; available for shift work; available for short notice reporting and overtime, if necessary); full benefits
This skilled position will perform or assist in the installation, routine repair and emergency repair of electrical apparatus and control systems at water and wastewater treatment, conveyance and storage facilities. Direction may be given to Electrical Maintenance Technicians I and Laborers as assigned; direction may be received from Electrical Maintenance Technicians IV. Supervision is received from the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor and/or Superintendent of Water/Wastewater Systems Maintenance.
NOTE:
The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate.

Essential Duties AndJob Responsibilities
- Perform basic troubleshooting of commercial and industrial electrical apparatus
- Perform installation and repair of electrical apparatus
- Install and repair single and three phase electrical services and auxiliary generators
- Install, troubleshoot and repair electric motor driven equipment such as pumps, blowers, valve operators, and various other electrically operated water and wastewater infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and repair of switch gear, motor control centers and their allied control circuits
- Inspect and correct electrical system deficiencies and problems
- Prepare equipment, tools and job sites for safe and proper working environment
- Assist the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor in procurement of materials
- Maintain accurate record keeping of work orders and materials
- As needed, operate trencher for underground work; operate bucket truck for aerial work
- Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications And Requirements- High school graduation or the equivalent
- Possession of a valid automobile operator's license
- Some work experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in electrical construction and/or electrical maintenance
- Successful completion of at least 50 contact hours of specialized formal training in Electrical System Repair and Maintenance
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in electrical construction and/or electrical maintenance
- Minimum 100 hours of specialized formal training in Electrical System Repair and Maintenance Ability to effectively complete Proficiency Level Progress Record (PLPR) Certification for Technician III within 6 months after hire
