Retail Parts Pro
Job Description: Retail Parts Pro is a professional-level sales position that supports advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and comprehensive part knowledge. It involves advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, sourcing parts from multiple channels, and in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. The position is full time.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives.
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
- Key holder responsibilities: task assignment and completion, safety, open/close duties.
- Assist with store inventory processes: truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- Provide additional DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Proficiency with inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operational competence with POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expert use of testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent.
- Advanced solution, project, and product recommendation ability.
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing skills.
- Advanced selling skills for DIY.
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.).
- Proficient English communication;
Spanish a plus. - Ability to read and interpret technical documents and write simple correspondence.
- Instructions following in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Successful completion of the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 3–5 years of automotive parts experience.
- Proven sales ability with a track record of fulfilling customer transactions.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- ASE certification preferred but not required.
- Certificates, licenses, or registrations relevant to automotive sales.
Physical demands of the role include moderate lifting and active customer service interactions. Specific demands may vary by store location.
Compensation Range18.15 USD PER HOUR - 19.96 USD PER HOUR
