Location: McClintock’s Back Bar – McClintock Distilling, Frederick, MD
Position: Part-Time Bar Back
Hours: 12–16 hours per week, primarily Friday & Saturday evenings
Compensation: $9/hour + tips
Reports to: Bar Manager/ Team Lead
Position OverviewThe Bar Back at McClintock’s Back Bar supports our bartenders and ensures smooth, efficient service during busy shifts. This role is fast-paced, hands‑on, and a great entry point into the craft cocktail and spirits world.
No industry experience is required, but hospitality, bar, or restaurant experience is preferred. We’re looking for someone reliable, energetic, and willing to learn.
Key ResponsibilitiesService Support
- Restock spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar tools throughout the shift.
- Keep the bar organized, clean, and well‑presented at all times.
- Run glassware to/from the dish area; polish and restock clean glassware.
- Clear and reset guest areas as needed (bar tops, side stations, etc.).
- Assist bartenders with preparing garnishes, juices, and basic prep tasks.
- Maintain clean bar surfaces, bar mats, wells, sinks, and storage areas during service.
- Take out trash as needed and at close.
- Help with end‑of‑night breakdown, cleaning, and restocking for the next shift.
- Communicate clearly with bartenders, bar leads, and support staff to anticipate needs.
- Support a welcoming, professional, and friendly atmosphere for guests.
- Follow McClintock Distilling’s standards for professionalism, cleanliness, and safety.
- Must be 18+.
- Ability to work Friday and Saturday nights consistently; occasional special events may be requested.
- Able to stand, walk, lift, and carry (up to ~40 lbs) for the duration of the shift.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while staying calm and organized.
- No bar experience required, but prior hospitality/restaurant/bar experience is preferred.
