Technology Readiness Assessment Engineer

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Technology Readiness Assessment Engineer to support our government customer in Ft. Detrick, MD.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for communicating with government and acquisition partners to collect and organize technology readiness assessments.
  • Develop and implement methods for readiness assessments data collection from government and industry partners.
  • Collate and analyze technology readiness assessment (TRA) data and produce TRA reports summarizing findings.
  • Conduct technology readiness assessments on medical technologies, collecting, and communicating with Department of Defense, Food and Drug Administration and other government agencies, industry partners and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data (such as surveys or questionnaires) or arrange to obtain existing data through peer‑reviewed resources.
  • Collect and analyze medical product information (physical and information technology) from government and industry sources to identify critical technologies, manufacturing practices.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous TRA efforts, prioritizing efforts based upon government guidance, monitoring timelines for timely submission of deliverables.
  • Prepare TRA reports, potentially using advanced publishing software.
  • Prepare staffing internal documents through a review process and documenting findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text.
  • Assist test directors, providing operational test expertise, test planning, cost estimation, test program time estimation, test data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support test directors in early tester involvement through participation on HPTs ensuring testability of AFMS or Joint capability requirement documents, test evaluation strategy documents, test cost estimates, and test evaluation master plans.
  • Assist test directors to compose and execute test execution documents, data collection sheets, collect and collate test data, analyze collected test data, detailed test plans, and draft the test reports.
  • Utilize established templates, flow charts and timelines to accomplish the above to meet test director deliverables.
  • Support and maintain the field site properly periodic lifting and moving of items that potentially could weigh 60‑80 lbs (e.g., sandbags that secure shelters).
  • Ad‑Hoc travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE / EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
  • Must have a record of DAU course completion in classes and continuous learning in the following areas: test, acquisition, systems engineering, logistics market research and requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience of equipment manufacturing practices.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a basic understanding of the defense acquisitions program.
  • Must be able to lift sixty (60) to eighty (80) pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
  • Must be willing and able to sign a Non‑Disclosure Agreement.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen – Born or Naturalized (Green Card and VISA holders not eligible).
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
