Quality Control Technician I - QC Lab Support

Position Summary

The Quality Control Technician I - QC Lab Support is responsible for executing sample management, shipment coordination, and laboratory support activities within the Quality Control organization. This role interfaces cross-functionally with QC teams, Quality Assurance, Analytical Development, Manufacturing, Material Management, and Corporate partners to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant handling of samples in a regulated laboratory environment. The QC Lab Support team operates seven days a week with extended, overlapping shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming samples, verify documentation, and log sample information into LIMS
  • Support sample receipt, processing, and aliquoting for release, stability testing, and retains
  • Label, store, and organize samples according to established procedures and storage requirements
  • Coordinate sample transfers to internal and external testing laboratories
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and restocking of sample storage areas
  • Collaborate with Material Management, Quality Assurance, and QC teams, including Corporate QC, to support sampling, testing, and disposition activities
  • Manage and complete all shipping activities within QC functions
  • Perform routine review of documentation including chain-of-custody forms, processing logs, logbooks, and related records
  • Assist with deviation investigations and related activities as needed
  • Provide status updates during daily and weekly team meetings
  • Participate in Lean Lab and Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Associate Degree with 2+ years of experience working in Quality Control or biopharmaceutical laboratories, preferably in an FDA-regulated environment
  • High School Diploma with 3+ years of experience working in Quality Control or biopharmaceutical laboratories, preferably in an FDA-regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and application of GMP within a QC laboratory environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple ongoing activities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Visio
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, small-company environment
  • Flexibility to adjust workload and work overtime as required
