QC Microbiology Technician I

Duration: 12 Months

Shift: Day Shift (4/10 schedule – 4 days x 10 hours/day). Possible shifts: SUN‑WEDS 7:00 am‑6:00 pm or WEDS‑SAT 7:00 am‑6:00 pm. Ensure availability for either schedule.

This position supports the Quality Control team in cancer immunotherapy manufacturing. Responsibilities include microbiological testing for clinical and commercial products, product testing, microbial growth promotion tests, utility testing, and environmental monitoring.

• Perform environmental monitoring of clean rooms.
• Collect water samples according to schedule and ensure on‑time testing.
• Perform and review microbiological assays including Gram Stain, Endotoxin, Sterility, Microbial Identification, Growth Promotion, Bioburden, and plate reading.
• Perform and review visual inspection of final product.
• Enter data, analyze trends, and prepare slides for management.
• Assist in investigations of out‑of‑specification (OOS) results, addressing and managing deviations related to micro procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and spaces routinely.
• Review and approve all final product release test results.
• Perform other duties as required.

• AA degree and 1+ years’ experience in a microbiology lab or environmental monitoring.
• AA degree and 2+ years’ experience in a microbiology lab or environmental monitoring.

• Experience in environmental air monitoring, water testing, surface monitoring.
• Experience with aseptic techniques and clean‑room operations.
• Ability to gown for entry into aseptic core and support areas, and lift ~25 lbs.
• Ability to pass vision exam for visual inspection.
• Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and quality‑control processes for commercial manufacturing.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced small company with minimal direction, adjustable workload, and flexible scheduling, including overtime.
