Lead Veterinary Technician – Glade Valley Animal Hospital at Mission Pet Health

Responsibilities- Serve as a clinical floater and “air traffic controller,” stepping into surgery, appointments, or treatment areas as needed.
- Maintain smooth daily flow of the hospital, reallocating staff and resources while providing hands‑on clinical support.
- Lead by example in surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, and efficient appointment and treatment flow.
- Coach and mentor technicians and assistants, including in‑moment feedback and monthly training initiatives.
- Collaboratively plan scheduling and operational needs with the Practice Manager, and oversee equipment maintenance and quality control.
- 3–5 years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
- Advanced technical skills: surgery assistance, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and efficient workflow management.
- Comfortable supporting emergencies and reallocating staff as needed.
- Strong understanding of technician and assistant workflows, with positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor.
- Strong communication, leadership, and accountability skills; flexible, open to new ideas, and adaptable.
- RVT/LVT preferred but not required; licensing can be subsidized.
- Lead Veterinary Assistant: $20 – $25 per hour
- Lead RVT/LVT: $25 – $30 per hour
