Registered Veterinary Technician – Part-Time
Location:
Glade Valley Animal Hospital, 2420 Monocacy Blvd, Frederick, MD 21701. Website:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday - Hours:
7:30 AM – 5:30 PM - Hospital Main
Hours:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM;
Saturday: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM - Part‑time (≈30 hours/week)
- Compensation: $20 – $25 per hour (based on experience)
The Role
We’re seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate and experienced team. You’ll work primarily in appointments, playing a critical role in client education and patient care. If you’re a people‑person with a heart for animals and a thirst for learning, we’d love to meet you.
Must‑Have Experience & Skills- Minimum 1 year of experience in an animal hospital
- Venipuncture experience is required
- Comfortable using Ezvet software
- Familiarity with Idexx lab equipment
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vaccine protocols, and preventive care
- Comfortable asking questions and seeking feedback
- Ability to work efficiently and manage tasks independently
- Services offered at the hospital include diverse soft‑tissue surgeries, preventive care, same‑day sick appointments, and visits from a traveling orthopedic surgeon
- Professional client communication and education; obtaining medical histories and symptoms
- Laboratory procedures: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, fecal analysis
- Diagnostic imaging and safety protocols
- Patient nursing: restraining, administering medications (PO/IV/SUBQ/IM), bandaging, IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring
- Dental prophylaxis
- Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT), or ability to transfer credentials across states
- Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology
- Team of 4 full‑time and 3 part‑time veterinarians
