Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery Center

• Provide safe, high‑quality nursing care across the surgical continuum in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, including pre‑operative, intra‑operative circulating, and post‑anesthesia (PACU) phases, in accordance with AORN, ASPAN, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Perform comprehensive pre‑operative patient assessments, verify consents, H&P, orders, and complete time‑out procedures per policy.
• Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, coordinating room activities and anticipating surgeon and anesthesia needs.
• Prepare and administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with established standards and physician orders.
• Collaborate with anesthesia during induction and emergencies; respond appropriately to changes in patient condition or emergencies.
• Provide PACU care including airway management, monitoring vital signs, pain control, and recovery from anesthesia.
• Ensure accurate, complete documentation throughout all phases of care.
• Communicate effective hand‑off reports during transitions between pre‑op, OR, and PACU.
• Utilize appropriate body mechanics and follow safety protocols to promote patient and staff safety.
• Perform nursing duties as assigned.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an operating room setting; preferably in ophthalmology.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid BCLS, ACLS & PALS Certifications required upon employment (must be through American Heart Association; online certification not acceptable).
