Rehabilitation Specialist, Residential Treatment – Frederick County, MD (Sun‑Th 7 am‑3 pm) role at Sheppard Pratt
The Adult Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides services for persons ages 18 and older with serious mental illness, including individuals with co‑occurring substance use disorders or developmental disabilities. Our teams craft individualized plans for residents to reach the highest level of recovery possible.
What to ExpectThis is an opportunity to provide support for mental health treatment. You will provide a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages the overall independence and wellbeing of your clients.
Responsibilities- Act as a residential counselor, working one‑on‑one with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
- Ensure medication compliance, which involves responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
- Work as part of a collaborative service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
- Provide transportation to and attend clients’ medical appointments; advocate during appointments and ensure all follow‑up instructions are documented and/or followed through.
- High school diploma or GED;
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. - Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
- Driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending upon need of the program.
