Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000
The Health Science Awards Technician will provide administrative oversight for research awards funded by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), which supports innovative, high-impact biomedical research to address critical gaps for military Service Members, Veterans, and the broader public.
In this role, you will support multiple CDMRP portfolio areas and cover administrative functions that enable, document, and track CDMRP-funded awards from pre-award through closeout. You will collaborate with award management staff, investigators, and other team members to support award compliance and records management.
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Aid in the maintenance of award administrative records in the Electronic Grants System (EGS).
- Confirm that progress reports adhere to the appropriate template/format and reporting requirements.
- Evaluate projects for scientific and/or budgetary overlap.
- Update EGS to reflect appropriately formatted award outputs (publications, patents, etc.) during the award period of performance and upon closeout.
- Complete post-award follow up to capture related publications, patents, presentations, and follow-on funding
- Assist with award coding/classification, data capture, and alignment to facilitate portfolio analysis and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science.
- Experience with scientific record keeping and a basic understanding of the research grant funding processes.
- Strong communication, organization, and scientific writing skills.
- Minimum of one year of biomedical and/or clinical research.
- Federal or Department of Defense work experience related to grants management.
- Prior experience working with CDMRP.
