Program DescriptionThe Bioprocessing Laboratory integrates clinical and laboratory activities through biospecimen lifecycle management. The Bioprocessing Laboratory and Trial Logistics Support Group partners with intramural and extramural investigators to translate clinical workflows into practical specimen collection, processing, and storage procedures, resulting in high-quality, well-annotated specimens suitable for primary use and for future research collections.
KeyRoles and Responsibilities
This position requires a fixed day shift Tuesday - Saturday.
- Separation of human blood samples into sub fractions
- Creating specimen aliquots
- Handling frozen material using dry ice and specialized dry ice workstations
- General laboratory upkeep, equipment monitoring, and inventory control
- Daily use of Excel, Word, Outlook
- Daily communication with team members & internal support groups
- Daily use of specimen inventory database for sample receipt
- Possession of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- Good work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to work a fixed Tuesday-Saturday schedule.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to routinely lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to focus for extended periods of time.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Previous experience working with serologic pipets and micropipettes.
- Previous experience with specimen inventory management software.
- Previous experience working with human blood and other potentially infectious material.
- Previous experience working with Streck liquid biopsy blood collection tubes.
- Exposure to infectious material requiring medical clearance and immunizations.

Payand Benefits
Pay range: $43,800.00 - $62,702.00 USD.
Employment benefits include competitive compensation, Health and Wellness programs, Income Protection, Paid Leave, and Retirement. Salary is full-time equivalent and may vary for part-time schedules.
