This is a part‑time on‑site position for a Music Librarian & Assistant Store Manager at Sharp Studios in Frederick, MD (Urbana). The Music Librarian will oversee the lending and organization of the library's music collection and ensure its accessibility for the community. Responsibilities include cataloging new sheet music, repertoire, and materials, assisting patrons with library services, and keeping library card information up‑to‑date.
Additionally, you will be assisting customers with scheduling consultations & lesson subscriptions, facilitating consignment sales, and ensuring everyone attending the library is safe and well‑mannered.
- Proven management experience, with or without a former "manager" title
- Strong performance ability in at least one musical instrument (including voice)
- Ability to read sheet music preferred
- Excellent organizational and cataloging skills with attention to detail
- Confidence & poise when interacting with customers
- High School Diploma
- Experience working in a library or music‑related setting is a plus
- Strong aptitude for rule‑enforcement (Shhhh! This is a library!)
- Passion for music and supporting community access to educational resources
