Monday-Friday; 7:30 a.m-4:30 p.m.; full benefits; grant funded
This position plays a vital role in connecting Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) students (grades 6-12) with meaningful career exploration opportunities. The Career Coach program is a partnership between Frederick County Workforce Services, Frederick County Public Schools, and Frederick Community College. This position builds partnerships with local business and industry leaders to support career exploration programming offered to FCPS secondary students through the Career Coach program.
This position will also provide administrative support in planning career exploration programs and events. Supervision is received from the Manager of Workforce Programs for Youth and Young Adults.
NOTE:
The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate.

TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
Frederick County offers an extensive compensation package to reflect how highly we value our employees. The following is what you can expect in your first year as a full-time benefited Frederick County Government employee.
* 11 days of Vacation leave with increase after 2 years of employment

* Develop and implement strategic outreach plans (for example contact methods, identifying student interests, and identifying and contacting relevant businesses) to engage business and industry partners in student career exploration
* Cultivate and maintain partnerships with industry leaders to facilitate student engagement in career development activities
* Support the implementation of career development and career exploration programs offered to FCPS secondary school students
* Provide administrative support for career development activities; including coordination with post-secondary schools, business tours, job embedded field trips, employment and college fairs, and speakers
* Coordinate employer participation in job shadowing, internships, and classroom presentations
* Track and report employer engagement metrics and student participation outcomes
* Gather required data and documentation (for example number of businesses contacted, the nature of those contacts, and number of student participation)
* Perform other related duties as required

* High school graduation or the equivalency
* Minimum 4 years of work experience with administrative support, customer support, business development, or career development
