Frederick Community College (FCC) is seeking dynamic and knowledgeable adjunct instructors to teach Principles and Practices of Real Estate in Maryland. This course prepares students to sit for the Maryland Real Estate Salesperson licensing exam and covers core concepts of real estate law, finance, brokerage, ethics, and agency relationships. The ideal candidate will bring practical experience in Maryland real estate, a commitment to student success, and the ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
This position is part‑time and requires availability for hybrid Saturday sessions and evening classes during the week, with a combination of in‑person and online instruction.
- Deliver engaging, student‑centered instruction in hybrid
Peer formats (in‑person and online). - Teach assigned sections of Principles and Practices of Real Estate in accordance with Maryland Real Estate Commission guidelines.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments in accordance with program standards and learning outcomes.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Collaborate with program staff to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with workforce needs.
- Stay current with industry trends, certification updates, and instructional best practices.
- Participate in adjunct faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid and active Real Estate Salesperson orle broker License in Maryland.
- Minimum of five (5) years of active, hands‑on experience as a licensed real estate professional in Maryland.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Prior teaching or training experience, preferably in a community college or adult education setting.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Cover letter detailing qualifications and teaching philosophy.
- Resume/CV including professional real estate experience.
Copy of Maryland Real Estate license and MREC instructor approval documentation. - Contact information for three professional references.
