Adjunct, Respiratory Care

This position supports the Respiratory Care program. The adjunct faculty member teaches in the classroom and laboratory setting, when needed.

• Teach classroom and laboratory courses related to all subject matter in Respiratory Care
• Facilitate student mastery of core learning outcomes using the most relevant and scholarly tools and technology available
• Evaluate students for appropriate psychomotor, affective, and cognitive skills
• Demonstrate respect for students as individuals
• Communicate student progress to the Program Manager
• Demonstrate excellence in instructor performance as reflected by the majority of positive responses on instructor/course evaluations

• Associate Degree
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Obtain Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner License within six months of hire (if current license is out of state)
• Three (3) years of full‑time work experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

• One (1) year classroom teaching experience
• One (1) year intensive care unit (ICU) experience
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Blackboard Learning Management System
• Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace
