Position SummaryThis position provides training and instruction for adult learners taking courses in both open enrollment and contract training situations. The role requires subject matter expertise in advanced manufacturing and is responsible for the development and delivery of non‑credit curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide instruction in Manufacturing Technology as assigned.
- Participate in required training for courses leading to industry certification.
- Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with personnel of the Workforce Development program.
- Apply technology to standards of delivery within the discipline, and as it is appropriate for the student population.
- Connect curricular learning outcomes to instruction and assessment.
- Initiate or proofread documents for teaching activities.
- Seek out current developments and information within the discipline.
- Maintain appropriate program records and associated retrieval systems.
- Provide technical expertise and offer recommendations for improvement.
- Assist the process of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum.
- Participate in meetings as a member of the Workforce Development team.
- Adhere to all FERPA requirements as well as all FCC policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties relevant to the mission of the Workforce Development program.
Minimum Qualifications
- AAS in advanced manufacturing technology with two years industry experience, or
- 5 years of industry experience in related field, or
- BSET in manufacturing.
- Industry certifications specific to the subject area.
- Familiarity with National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) manufacturing certifications and their application to the industry.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Advanced Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical Systems, Fluid Power, Pneumatics, PLC, and/or Robotics.
- Experience using computers and other associated production technologies.
- Two year teaching/training experience with adult learners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of People Soft and Blackboard learning management systems.
- Experience in a higher educational environment.
- Exposure to current educational practices for student learning.
- Ability to learn and remain current about Workforce Development.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced atmosphere.
- Ability to use varying styles, approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
