Position Summary
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team in Fraser Lake. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, with a focus on longitudinal care and supporting urgent/emergency care as a member of the team. The NP will work closely with family physicians, patient care assistants, and an integrated professional team to deliver high-quality, culturally safe care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide longitudinal primary care to a diverse patient population.
- Collaborate with family physicians and other health professionals in a collegial and supportive environment.
- Participate in rotational outreach travel (1–2 days/month) to the local communities.
- Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for documentation and care coordination.
- Attach patients per the Provincial Attachment System (PAS) guidelines
- Eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Demonstrated experience in primary care and opioid agonist therapy.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care.
The community of Fraser Lake is surrounded by lakes and rivers which stem from the top of Mouse Mountain, one of the village’s most prominent landmarks. Known for fishing and outdoor activities, Fraser Lake is also known as the White Swan Capital of the world for the hundreds of migratory trumpeter swans that settle there each winter. The lake covers 54 square kilometers and is a hub for outdoor recreation, including fishing, boating, and hiking.
Only 160km west of the larger community of Prince George.
Fraser Lake Community Health Centre is a full-scope Family Medicine Clinic; with outreach to clinics in surrounding area.

- Emergency stabilization and transfer (to Vanderhoof or Prince George)

Education and Experience
- Completion of BCCNM approved Master’s degree level nurse practitioner program.
- Eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

- Ability to collaborate, consult with and formally refer patients/clients/residents to physicians and other health professionals when appropriate.
