Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Position Title: Material Handler
Wage: $18/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:45am-3:15pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Material Handler for a company in Franklin, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity.
Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Work with outside drivers to verify incoming materials for quantities, inspect for condition, note any discrepancies and sign for shipment receipt
- Load and unload materials from trucks using electric/manual pallet jack and/or lift truck in a safe and efficient manner
- Open and verify incoming products for identity, condition and count
- Properly identify and put-away material
- Resolve problems of receiving working closely with Purchasing Department
- Move and store materials between production lines, warehouse, and shipping/receiving areas
- Maintain the dock in a structured/controlled manner, ensuring efficient utilization of space
- Keep manufacturing areas supplied with parts/materials (baskets, nickel wire, ceramics, T/P etc.)
- Keep assembled lines supplied with materials and boxes
- Keep boxes of assembled inserts stocked (Goodman, Dayton, Amana and other also as demand requires)
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
- Locate and prepare, mark, label, tag, band, shrink wrap or package finished goods or materials for receipt, storage, delivery or shipments according to location or customer requirements
- Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material needs
- Maintain communication with other departments to share information
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
- OSHA forklift certification and safe operation experience
- Familiarity with warehouse management or ERP systems
- Ability to lift up to 50-100 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities
