Position Summary

To coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner.

Position Requirements
  • Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
  • Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Telemetry unit:
    Basic Arrhythmia and ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • Float pool and extended float pool:
    Basic Arrhythmia, ACLS, and NVCI certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Critical care:
    Basic Arrhythmia, ACLS, NVCI within 6 months of hire; AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire.
  • Oncology: ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Adult Emergency Room: at least one year of emergency experience preferred; TNCC preferred; ACLS, PALS, and NVCI certification within 6 months.
  • Pediatric Medical Surgical: at least one year of pediatric in‑hospital experience preferred; PALS and NVCI certification within 6 months.
  • Pediatric Emergency Room: at least one year of pediatric emergency experience; PALS, ACLS, and NVCI certification within 6 months; ENPC or TNCC within 6 months.

Equipment and Skills Training

Standard patient care equipment for services provided. The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently, and to be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of settings. Equipment:
Network Computer System, Omnicell Medication System, Telemetry, Pneumatic Tube System, AT&T Language Line.

Physical Environment
  • Adult medical/surgical unit: patient population ranging from adolescent to >99 years of age.
  • Pediatric medical/surgical unit: neonate to 21 years of age.
  • Critical Care unit: adolescent to >99 years.
  • Oncology unit: adult patients.
  • Adult emergency department: patient population 99 years.
  • Pediatric emergency department: neonate to 21 years.
Physical Effort
  • Communicate in English verbally and legibly.
  • Requires prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
