The School Bus Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while they are being transported to and from school. The monitor will work closely with the bus driver to maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
Responsibilities- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely
- Ensure that students are seated and wearing seat belts (if applicable)
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school bus rules
- Report any incidents or issues to the bus driver and/or school administration
- Assist students with special needs as required
- Perform regular safety checks on the bus
- Communicate with parents/guardians as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
