Description

The Electrical Installation Supervisor performs supervisory responsibilities for managing all electrical aspects of the electrical contractor hired by Spring Automation. This individual is responsible for planning, participating in, and inspecting the work of electricians and trades helpers. Work includes traveling to customer jobsites to inspect and advising the electrical contractors, attending weekly meetings regarding the project, and updating and advising contractors on filling out weekly status reports, advising them on complex installation issues.

Individuals must be able to update Microsoft Word and Excel documents. Must be able to work remotely with little or no supervision. This position reports to the Electrical Installation Supervisor Team Lead.

In this role, you will…
  • Be accountable for the on-site supervision of assigned construction projects, trade contractors, and field personnel, in such a way as to ensure scheduled completion of projects within established budget, time frame, quality and performance standards, and customer/client satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for reviewing project documents, plans, and specifications; directing construction activities; resolving construction difficulties; coordinating field installations and project close-outs; and developing and/or maintaining customer/client relationships.
  • Accomplish all responsibilities within standard operating procedures, project costs, time constraints, and quality standards.
  • Conduct onsite inspections and give Project Manager and Installation Supervisor Team Lead inspection reports.
  • Assist the onsite electricians with conduit routing and device placement and help resolve any technical issues.
  • Ensure that all work is being done to customer’s specifications, as well as the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) regulations ensuring quality is met.
  • Advise Project Managers as necessary on any scope of change or change order requests.
  • Enforce safety regulations, rules, and working conditions aligning and adhering to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Interact with project execution and other field personnel, as well as support staff (e.g., finance, human resources, and other corporate services staff).
  • Interact with owners, owner representatives, architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, and others who are associated with project related activities.
  • Lead and direct project trade labor.
  • Be able to work remotely but have the expectation of traveling up to 75% of year, based on project expectation.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Four years of related experience, including supervisory or lead experience and considerable experience as a journeyman electrician, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
  • The ability to supervise the work of skilled workers.
  • Considerable knowledge of the NEC for electrical installations.
  • The ability to interpret and work from instructions, penciled plans and sketches, and blueprints.
  • The ability to communicate and coordinate with superiors, subordinates, and vendors.
  • The ability to estimate materials and labor costs.
  • Skill in the use and care of all hand and shop tools and equipment of the electrician’s trade.
