Defining Wealth - Director of Client Growth
Defining Wealth is an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) providing comprehensive financial planning and wealth management to early retirees and those approaching retirement. Our firm is built on fiduciary advice, thoughtful planning, and a high-touch client experience. We generate consistent inbound demand through our marketing efforts and are seeking a Director of Client Growth to help convert that demand into profitable client relationships.
The RoleAs Director of Client Growth, you will work directly with the executive team to manage and convert a high volume of inbound leads into new clients. This is a revenue-driving role focused on running introductory and discovery calls, qualifying prospects, managing follow-ups, and owning the sales process through signed engagement.
Your success will come from your ability to combine strong sales skills with financial planning knowledge to guide prospects confidently through a consultative decision-making process within an RIA environment.
Key Responsibilities Inbound Sales & Client Acquisition- Partner directly with the founder to coordinate, schedule, and lead introductory and discovery calls
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients through the pre-client journey
- Qualify prospects for fit, complexity, service needs, and long-term profitability
- Clearly articulate Defining Wealth’s planning philosophy, fiduciary model, and value proposition
- Drive consistent follow-up and next steps until prospects commit to becoming clients
- Conduct sales conversations in a manner consistent with RIA best practices and fiduciary standards.
- Understand and communicate financial planning concepts relevant to early retirees (income planning, tax strategy, investment philosophy, risk management, etc.)
- Work closely with advisor teams to ensure smooth handoffs and accurate expectation-setting.
- Own all prospect activity within the CRM, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Track and report on KPIs including lead volume, conversion rates, close rates, revenue, and time-to-close.
- Refine repeatable and scalable processes to support firm growth
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure mid- and bottom-of-funnel campaigns are effective.
- Provide feedback on lead quality, messaging, objections, and prospect behavior
- Help refine nurture sequences, follow-up cadence, and handoff timing.
- Ensure a seamless experience from first touch to client onboarding.
- 3+ years of experience in financial services in a business development or sales role.
- CFP® certification or active pursuit of CFP® designation
- Proven ability to close consultative, relationship-based sales
- Experience working in or selling financial services within an RIA, advisory, wholesaling role, or wealth management.
- Strong CRM experience
- Highly organized, process-driven, and metrics-oriented
- Confident working directly with a founder in a fast-paced environment
- Deep understanding of financial planning and wealth management for retirees or near-retirees
- Experience selling fee-based advisory services (AUM and/or financial planning for a flat fee.)
- Familiarity with compliance-conscious sales environments
$150,000+ ($50,000 Base Salary + Bonus)
