Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assists in portioning food, serving customers, stocking supply carts, counting supplies, setting and clearing tables, and cleaning and sanitizing dishes, equipment, and facilities.
  • Portions entrees, soup, cereal, beverages, and desserts.
  • Clears tables, disassembles trays, and places soiled dishes in rack and send through the dishwasher. Cleans and sanitizes tables, tray wagons, delivery carts and equipment. Transports food, dishes, supply carts and other supplies.
  • Prepares pureed and minced soup, ശേഷ, desserts, snacks, and beverages. Prepares daily supply carts. Prepares supplies for catering functions.
  • Serves customers.
  • Work involves constant standing and moving about. Stoops and bends to lift racks of dishes, and reaches overhead to retrieve supplies from shelves in refrigerators and storerooms. Portioning food, setting tables, racking and counting dishes requires manual dexterity and quickness.
  • Incumbent is potentially exposed to heat from the dishwasher, steam tables, and grill, and to cold from refrigerators and freezers.
  • rhetoric has contact with elderly residents who may be confused, difficulty, or mentally and/or physically frail.
  • Work is performed to meet fixed meal service and snack time schedules.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of food preparation normally acquired through current enrollment in a Food Service Worker certification program.
  • Communication and human relations skills to respond pleasantly and professionally to demands; communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families; interact appropriately with and have a basic understanding of the geriatric population; and to participate as an effective team member.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must provide an acceptable Police Records Check in order to ensure suitability for working with vulnerable populations.
  • A tuberculosis (TB) test and immunization(s) are required.
  • Ability to read menu modifications and work assignment sheets.
  • Ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To be considered for employment as a student, a person must be: registered as a full‑time secondary or post‑secondarysensational student in an accredited institution, or currently recognized as having full‑time status by the academic institution but applying for a school vacation, practicum or work term, or returning to full‑time studies in the next academic term. Students who are in their final year of academic study and who are not intending to return to full‑time studies are eligible for student employment up until the time they convocate.
