Position Summary
Full‑time Backwait positions are available at Westhaven Golf Club. Flexible schedules are offered. The Backwait provides exceptional service in the dining room and other Food & Beverage outlets through the delivery of food, clearing of completed plates and glasses, and bussing tables.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assures that all material used by servers is clean and ready for daily operation.
• Possesses knowledge of the position of each diner’s chair in the dining rooms and lounges.
• Sets the outside line with underliner plates, flatware, doilies, linen napkins and any other items needed for the delivering of food.
• Sets tables in accordance with Troon Golf standards.
• Ensures that each menu item is prepared in the exact detail outlined on each ticket.
• Fills and re‑fills water glasses and removes any place settings not being used.
• Delivers food from expo to table.
• Clears dishes located in front of guests upon completion of course.
• Clears and resets tables when guests leave, including but not limited to: changing tablecloth, brushing chairs, placing chairs at the table, replacing silverware and glassware, and replacing napkins.
• Assists the server when needed.
• Keeps work stations and closets well stocked with items and ingredients.
• Clean workstations and closets, takes out trash, and vacuums the dining room.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in restaurant work preferred, but not required.
• High level of cleanliness, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Team player able to foster professional relationships with members, employees, and guests.
• Great work ethic with a passion for exceeding member expectations and a commitment to excellence resulting in high‑quality member and guest service.
