The RN Travel supports patient care delivery through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation under the supervision of Charge Nurses. This role involves administering medications, assisting in diagnostic tests, documenting care, and supporting surgical procedures as needed. The nurse ensures compliance with safety protocols, medication handling, and clinical documentation standards. They participate in care planning, emergency response, and interdisciplinary communication. The role requires 100% travel to various locations to fulfill staffing needs.

This is a position for our Wellpath West Travel team. Team member must have a multi-state license, be willing to get licensed in California, and be a current Wellpath employee in good standing OR an external candidate with at least one year recent corrections experience. Shifts are variable – depending on the needs of the site that week. Travel is on Wednesday, then working 12-hour shifts Thursday‑Tuesday, return home on Wednesday with the next six days off.
$50/hr, travel time, and travel arrangements paid; meals reimbursed up to a maximum with receipt.
EDUCATION
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Experience
- One (1) or more years clinic experience preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) within the states of practice and the state in which you work, or a valid compact state nurse license
- Current CPR certification
What You Will Do
- Deliver patient care and treatment plans under supervision of Charge Nurse
- Administer medications, perform EKGs, and assist with procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation in SOAP format and review medical records
- Respond to emergencies and ensure safety and infection control protocols
- Travel full-time to different healthcare facilities as staffing needs require
