JOB DESCRIPTION: The Facility Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and order in a building by performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, and sanitizing restrooms, while also managing supplies, reporting repairs, handling minor repairs and assisting in internal event setup, requiring attention to detail, physical stamina, and adherence to safety protocols.

JOB DUTIES- Perform general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Perform routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bag trash for proper disposal.
- Unlock doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.
- Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Perform cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
- Understanding of safety practices related to custodial work (e.g., proper lifting techniques, chemical safety, use of personal protective equipment).
- Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards consistently.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and maintain routine records as required.
- Available to work flexible hours and adapt to shifting work demands.
