Job Summary
The Senior Director, Emergency Services is responsible for leading and overseeing clinical operations within Emergency Services, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. This role provides strategic and operational leadership, manages resources, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize clinical services, patient outcomes, and staff development.
Essential Functions- Leads clinical operations for Emergency Services, establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and quality patient care.
- Develops and executes strategic initiatives to support growth, resource optimization, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to monitor performance metrics, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provides leadership and direction to clinical management and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensures staff training, competency, and professional development are aligned with clinical standards and organizational objectives.
- Oversees patient safety and risk management initiatives within the department, addressing issues proactively and ensuring a safe care environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
- 8-10 years of experience in clinical management, with significant experience in a senior leadership role within a specialized service line (e.g., Emergency, Surgical) required
- 4-6 years of experience in management in a large tertiary facility or Market required
- Experience in leading successful performance Improvement efforts in an acute care setting required
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of clinical operations, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement in healthcare settings.
- Strategic and analytical skills to guide service line growth, resource management, and process optimization.
- Leadership and team-building abilities to develop high-performing clinical teams and foster a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, leadership, and external partners effectively.
- Budget management and resource allocation skills to support efficient and effective service delivery.
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- CENP - Certified in Executive Nursing Practice preferred
