Salary Range: $100,000 – $125,000 annually
About the RoleThis position serves as a senior contributor within the accounting function, supporting all areas of corporate tax compliance. The Senior Tax Accountant will apply advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidated return requirements, and multi‑state tax rules. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state income tax filings, contributing to income tax provision activities, supporting audits, performing research, and assisting with special initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance (Primary Focus – 60%)- Prepare and review domestic federal and state income tax returns using Corptax
- Prepare international tax filings, including Forms 5471 and 8975 in Corptax
- Calculate quarterly state estimated tax payments and annual extensions
- Document book‑to‑tax adjustments and related accounting method considerations
- Provide analyses for federal and state examinations
- Assist in drafting responses to inquiries from tax authorities
- Collaborate with tax team members and cross‑functional leaders on audit requests
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provision activities
- Ensure accurate application of ASC 740 and related accounting guidance
- Prepare blended state rate calculations and forecast state NOL utilization
- Help maintain compliance with SOX 404 requirements
- Assist with exemption certificate management and sales/use tax determinations
- Participate in projects involving tax planning, automation, method changes, and transfer pricing
- Conduct tax research and provide analytical support as needed
- 3+ years of tax experience within a large public accounting firm or corporate tax department, including at least three years of corporate income tax preparation and review
- Strong understanding of U.S. corporate tax regulations, GAAP, and related accounting principles
- Proven proficiency in consolidation processes, corporate tax forms, schedules, and disclosures
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage high‑volume workloads
- Advanced Excel capabilities and experience with tax compliance software (Corptax preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or MBT preferred, but not required
