We are seeking a Physical Security Engineer to design systems for our electronic security projects at our Houston, TX, facility.

The Security Systems Engineer will support large security systems rollouts to protect our customers’ critical assets and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team that consists of our projects organization, consulting staff, product vendors, engineering, telecommunications, and application integration departments. The ideal candidate will come with a good knowledge of security systems technology, including access control systems, video surveillance systems, and perimeter intrusion detection.

Job Responsibilities:

Technologies:

• Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) command and control software
• Perimeter Intrusion Detection (IDS) systems with optical, thermal, active IR, or radar devices
• Honeywell Temaline access control system

Project Execution:

• Use local codes and industry standards for installation, service and troubleshooting of advanced security systems.
• Ensure proper engineering techniques are utilized from job mobilization to project completion, including documentation, training, and system commissioning.
• Provide hand on customer training for advanced security systems.
• Supervision of third party subcontractors/partners for installation of systems.
• Ensures complete and accurate responses on subcontractor proposals for field design and installation.
• Focus is on Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and networked industrial solutions.

Basic Qualifications (required):

• 3 years experience leading large electronic security projects.
• Bachelors’ degree in engineering or 8 years progressive design experience
• Command and control software programming experience

Additional Requirements (preferred):

• Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator experience
• Honeywell TEMALINE access control experience
• Perimeter Intrusion Detection (IDS) systems with optical, thermal, active IR, or radar devices
• Honeywell Digital Video Manager (DVM) for industrial process monitoring experience
• Knowledge of government driven regulations for industrial security.
• Experience in the industrial facilities, petrochemical industry preferred.
• Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) RCDD certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus.
• Fluent in multiple languages a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 50%, some international travel required.
