Senior Transportation Engineer
Actalent is hiring a Senior Transportation Engineer.
Job DescriptionThe Senior Transportation Engineer is responsible for managing transportation projects in accordance with their scope, schedule, and budget. The role requires collaboration with various disciplines and subconsultants to develop risk‑averse project scopes and fees while maintaining high standards of quality management.
Responsibilities- Manage projects in line with defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with disciplines and subconsultants to create risk‑averse project scopes and fees.
- Develop project‑specific plans, including Project Management Plans and quality management plans.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
- Manage subconsultants effectively.
- Monitor and execute project progress, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Develop extra work order requests and open‑end contract task proposals.
- Communicate project status, updates, and issues to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in office’s project financial status meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to understand preferences and requirements for delivering quality projects.
- Prepare progress reports and lead project status presentations.
- Assist Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with the marketing process, including SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, and interviews.
- Coordinate and guide all technical resources within the project team to ensure high‑quality delivery.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to the project team through one‑on‑one check‑ins and project debriefs.
- Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management to support their growth and development.
- Proficiency in Micro Station and Civil Engineering.
- Experience in roadway design and transportation engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 15+ years of experience in developing roadway/highway plans.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
The role involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment that emphasizes high-quality project delivery and client satisfaction. The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders. Professional attire is expected in office and client meetings.
