AECOM is seeking a highly talented Structural Dam Safety Engineering Project Manager / Technical Lead to join the East Region Dams Team. This position will support a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities.

• Perform the roles of a Project Manager such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and project team management including subcontractors.
• Client-facing role with ownership and responsibility for the successful delivery of dam engineering projects and programs including business development and proposal preparation for new and existing clients.
• Lead the technical execution of projects including structural stability and strength analyses, structural design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with hydraulic concrete structures such as spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures.
• Plan, manage and lead field investigations for various hydraulic structures.
• Prepare and perform quality control reviews of other Engineer's work on deliverables such as design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Build and maintain project schedules for delivering project success including the management of resources, budgets and risk.
• Plan, direct, supervise and lead multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work and business development part-time as needed.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing projects or completing project management activities such as maintain project budgets, schedule, staffing, quality control, and/or client relations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience developing proposals including preparing technical approaches and scopes of work, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and/or professional conferences is required.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
• Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to complete the Managing AECOM Projects training and receive the AECOM Project Manager certification within six months of hire.
• Experience with relevant software such as Microsoft Power BI and Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam and PMIS such as Procore and e-Builder, AutoCAD, Mathcad, STADD Pro and Ansys.
• Passion for mentoring junior staff and leadership – guiding our growing team of engineers to produce quality work and excellent client service.
