Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you the dynamic Strategic Supply Chain Manager we are looking for? If you want to feel the satisfaction of really making a difference, you’ve come to the right place.

At Skanska, we don’t just build bridges, office buildings or data centers. We make a positive impact in people’s lives, shaping the way we all live, work, and connect now and for generations to come – and we want you to do it together with us.

The Strategic Supply Chain Manager leads end-to-end procurement and supply chain activities for one or more business units or large projects, ensuring materials, subcontractors and services are delivered on time, at the right quality and cost to support project delivery. The role embeds a project-focused procurement team within operating units and provides coaching, performance management and professional development for buyers, coordinators and category specialists.

It sets category strategies, leverages supplier relationships and scale to drive value and cost savings, coordinates with central procurement to implement The Skanska Way and champions sustainable and ethical procurement practices aligned with Skanska’s sustainability goals.

Tactically, the Manager develops and recommends procurement strategies, metrics and plans to improve estimating across SD, DD, CD and GMP phases, interprets plans, specifications and 3‑D models to assess scope and create quantity take‑offs, and implements process and workflow improvements (including Quick Base applications) to increase efficiency and transparency. They manage key supplier relationships, prequalification and contract arrangements, act as the primary escalation point for critical OEM issues, lead executive business reviews with strategic OEMs and use supplier performance data and relationship trackers to drive continuous improvement and mitigate risk.

Operationally, the Manager leverages manufacturers’ competitive pricing and strategic partner collaboration to produce precise construction estimates, solicit competitive bids and optimise logistics with commercial transport teams to minimise site delays. They control spending in partnership with finance, maintain accurate supplier records in corporate systems and support Preconstruction Leads through regular coordination and Quick Base updates while developing expertise in Building Connected.

They also support national business development and client engagement by presenting the strategic supply chain as a consultative value‑add in early client interactions, proposals and interviews and by communicating the Strategic Supply Chain Program’s value to local project teams to increase adoption and impact.
