Day Camp Coordinator (Summer 2026) – Atrium Family YMCA

Position: Day Camp Coordinator |
Pay: $18.00/hour |
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt |
Schedule: Seasonal, Full‑Time.
Reports to: Program Director.

Under the direction of the Program Director and aligned with the Christian mission of Great Miami Valley YMCA, the Day Camp Coordinator plans, develops, and  all day camp activities, ensuring the children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental development while keeping safety as the top priority.

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children, demonstrating the ability to motivate and supervise staff; planning and program development skills are a plus.
• One or more years of related childcare or summerΚ day camp experience strongly preferred.
• Computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and email applications.
• Valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and reliable transportation.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

• , design, evaluate, and implement all day camp program elements in accordance with guidelines and budgetary constraints.
• Maintain required enrollment numbers and program quality.
• κυβ cooperate with camp quality agency staff,  reports, and respond to inspection requests within required time frames.
• Complete annual inspections with fire department, health department, and other agencies as required.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary environment and meet all federal, state, and local licensing requirements.
• Inspect equipment for safety hazards, damage, or wear.
• Document and report incidents, concerns, and follow proper procedures, maintaining confidentiality.
• Train, evaluate, and supervise staff; conduct effective staff meetings.
• Schedule staff, find substitutes, and support staff shortages.
• Build relationships with members, program participants,ази and community partners.
• Promote programs through marketing materials in compliance with GMV YMCA standards.
• Drive safely, transporting up to 14 children when required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Requires walking, standing, and sitting (including on the floor) for long periods in all weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
• Must lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to interpret, adopt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Must be creative, enthusiastic, and detail‑oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with Aure families, children, and staff.
• Ability to maintain emotional control and composure in turbulent, challenging, and changing conditions.
• Must be a dependable team player who meets deadlines and maintains prompt, regular attendance.
