Overview
The Quality Manager ensures that company products consistently meet internal standards and customer specifications by developing, implementing, and maintaining effective quality control systems. This role analyzes production data using statistical process control methods to identify trends and recommend continuous improvements. The position also supports manufacturing excellence by conducting internal audits and leading quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and processes to ensure consistent product quality.
- Collect, analyze, and report quality data and key performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS), conducting internal audits of the QMS and manufacturing processes to identify nonconformities and implement corrective actions.
- Train and mentor quality team members on standards and procedures; provide guidance to department managers and support quality assurance personnel.
- Engage with customers to gather product feedback, investigate complaints, and drive internal corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and communicate quality metrics aligned with corporate objectives and ensure visibility across the organization.
- Lead and manage annual ISO and ALA Lab audits and recertification processes in collaboration with external auditing agencies.
- 7-10 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred but not required.
- Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and implement effective corrective solutions.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating quality teams while collaborating cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with quality management systems, analytical tools, and core quality principles.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool design preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles preferred.
- Familiarity with measurement equipment such as Starrett HDV 300, Pratt & Whitney Supermicrometer, and optical comparators.
