Direct Support Lead role at Sevita

Neuro Restorative, part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord, and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. Summary

Provides leadership to Life Skills Trainers (LST) in the residence and in the community and provides direct services to program participants.

Essential Job Functions
  • Participate in client training to assure client objectives and company goals are achieved.
  • Participate in community outings, house orientation for new employees; serve as a role model to all house staff, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Replace, reassign, or cancel staffing assignments as needed.
  • Facilitate residential staff problem solving, provide direct residential staff supervision, and initiate residential staff corrective action interventions as required.
  • Coordinate and complete participant and staff accident/injury/incident report investigation forms for incidents that occur during shift.
  • Assume immediate leadership role in implementing personal intervention, active treatment, and crisis prevention as needs arise during shift/while on community outings.
  • Successfully complete mandatory training; attend annual / semi‑annual refresher / re‑certification courses before certification expiration.
  • Assist with house staffing needs and staff recruitment as required.
  • Review client progress, coordinate and implement shift objectives and make recommendations to the supervisor.
  • Provide services such as skills training, job coaching, behavior management in accordance with the Individual Plan (IP) and/or treatment team.
  • Coach and lead LSTs to ensure therapeutic goals are met and programs are facilitated in a respectful manner.
  • Understand and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures; also ensure compliance with relevant external regulatory statutes and standards.
  • Perform other delegated duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and trainings. Resolve employee problems within position responsibilities.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required by the Job

Representatives of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in providing direct services in the human services field.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Required
  • Current driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance if providing transportation for individual receiving services.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification as required.

Physical Requirements
  • Medium work:
    Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
