A Day in Your Life at MKS
We are seeking a hands‑on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our six Massachusetts locations. In this role, you will partner closely with Facilities, site leadership, and cross‑functional teams to implement and continuously improve our EHS programs. You’ll serve as a key resource for regulatory compliance, employee training, incident prevention, and safety oversight—playing a critical part in ensuring our workplaces remain safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible.
YouWill Make an Impact By:
- Work directly with Facilities, first line supervision, and management to implement the EHS Programs effectively across six MA locations.
- Interact, meet, and tour local, state, and federal agencies such as MWRA, OSHA, DEP, EPA, insurance carriers, local fire/police, and others for permitting, inspection requirements, and recommendations for each site.
- Perform proactive site safety inspections, monitor hazardous waste removal vendors, and assist in hazardous waste protocols.
- Chair and lead quarterly Safety Committee Meetings, conduct site inspections per quarter (2), and coordinate with Facilities, lab/site stakeholders, and first line supervision to complete corrective action items. Lead incident investigations and root cause corrective action plans and implementations. Manage the Safety Data Sheet program electronically on MSDS Online and 3E software.
- Train employees on company policies and regulations pertaining to employee safety in conjunction with Human Resources such as Blood Borne Pathogens, Haz Com, Chemical Hygiene, LOTO, etc., and lead the EHS section of new hire orientation.
- Schedule, oversee, and manage electronic documentation for the EHS programs such as CPR/AED, forklift training, the hearing conservation & safety shoe vans, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic programs.
- Review plans for operational projects and equipment installations; determine compliance with safety, security, and environmental requirements, and be responsible for monthly first aid kit inspections, PPE cabinets, fume hood maintenance, eye wash stations, and walk‑through safety reviews with Facilities as part of the gas detection system.
- B.S. degree or higher preferred (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree), in an environmental field or related discipline, and 2+ years of experience in EHS.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and safety functions within a manufacturing environment and federal and state regulations.
- Environmental or OSHA related training such as HAZWOPER, GHS, etc., and/or certification for Wastewater Management/Operator is desired.
- Ability to lift 35–50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to go up and down ladders.
- Salary Pay Range: $71,000 – 118,00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
- Bonus:

This role is onsite at our facility in Wilmington, MA. Candidates will live within a commutable driving distance.
