Job Description:
Dean College is looking for a dynamic, experienced, student-centered educator to teach The Leadership Experience during the Fall 2026 semester. The College seeks Adjunct Faculty who focus on experiential learning and active engagement in their classrooms. Adjuncts chosen to teach at Dean create a compelling and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds.
We are seeking an adjunct instructor for DCA-302:
The Leadership Experience. DCA-302 is a 3-credit class that meets for 2.5 hours/week. The adjunct pay rate is $3,300/section. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach. The Dean Career Advantage program provides a course charter with course objectives as well as sample syllabi. All faculty are expected to make active use of the learning management system (Canvas) at least at a minimum level established by the College.
The course description is as follows:
This upper-level course integrates leadership theory with hands-on practice through concurrent enrollment in a structured on-campus student leadership role. Students will explore classical and contemporary leadership frameworks?including transformational, servant, and adaptive leadership?while simultaneously applying these concepts in real campus organizations or initiatives. Through ongoing reflection, peer consultation, and faculty mentorship, students will develop their personal leadership philosophy and enhance their capacity to lead diverse teams effectively.
The course bridges academic study with experiential learning to cultivate ethical, reflective, and culturally responsive leaders.
There is one section of DCA-302 available. It is scheduled to meet two days per week, for 75-minutes each.
Requirements:
* Master's degree in education, leadership or a related field is required;
PhD in a related discipline is preferred.
* Experience teaching at the college level in person is required; experience teaching undergraduates is preferred.
* Strong computer skills are required. Experience using technologies and/or strategies to enhance pedagogy is required.
* Ability and willingness to be responsive and supportive to students through college online resources and digital tools is required.
* Experience with or willingness to learn Canvas, our learning management system, and classroom media is required.
* Expertise in learner-centered teaching is required. Experience and ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body with a variety of learning styles, required.
